Chess Tactics Pro (Puzzles) App Reviews

I like playing this. At least one position presented didnt have a super obvious best play. I let my chess engine chew on it for a while and two moves were equally valid. And for any positions that end in promotion, the game fails you because you can not win them. A bug in the interface prevents you from completing the puzzle.

Some of the solutions seem to come from the open source platform. Tactical reasoning like math can be disappointing, because there is more than one way to solve a problem efficiently!

The hard puzzles are really nearly impossible to solve within a reasonable time frame. I highly doubt that at this difficulty level the puzzles would help you achieve anything in chess. Complicated Puzzles that take more than 3 minutes on average to solve are useless for the blitz player. I also bought the intermediate 350 mate in two package, and most turned out to be mate in FIVE! Not good.

Great concept but needs work. Half the time, you dont know whether to checkmate or if they are going to make you take a random opposing piece. Also, you can checkmate in less steps but still be wrong because its not what they wanted. Number of moves to checkmate would be helpful
